Born in Porto in 1981, Jerónimo Rocha majored in painting, but from an early age he embraced cinema and its atmosphere using a wide range of techniques, both real image and animation. Since 2010, he has been making short films with a regular presence at national and international festivals, including Breu, Les Paysages, Dédalo and 20-02-80. He is the first Portuguese to win the Brigadoon Prize in Sitges for his short film Arcana in 2016 and is the recipient of the Meliès D'Argent in Lund for his animated short Macabre in 2017.
